1. Stay hydrated

Hydration is essential to ensure the proper functioning of your body. It is also important for having beautiful skin. Indeed, our epidermis needs to be hydrated from the outside as well as from the inside. It is recommended to drink at least 1.5 liters of water every day. If you have a sporting activity, you must increase this water intake. Of course, it is possible to bet on herbal teas to reach the right quota. How to proceed ? It's very easy. Every day you have to drink:

  • a glass of water upon waking to eliminate toxins accumulated during the night,
  • a glass of water or an infusion in the morning,
  • a glass of water before lunch to improve digestion,
  • a glass of water during lunch,
  • a glass of water or an infusion in the afternoon,
  • a glass of water before dinner always to ensure good digestion,
  • a glass of water during dinner,
  • a glass of water before bed.

Attention ! It is not recommended to consume too much caffeine or sugary drinks such as sodas. Likewise, favor whole fruits over fruit juices in order to take full advantage of their benefits.

2. Eat a balanced diet

We often hear that health is on the plate. Well know that beauty too! By eating a balanced diet, you can lessen the effects of aging. It is necessary to favor a diet rich in:

  • antioxidants that promote cell renewal,
  • omega 3 which boosts the elasticity of the skin,
  • vitamins A, C and E that preserve the youth of the skin.

If you do not have a balanced diet, it is possible to turn to food supplements. Nevertheless, a well-constituted plate remains more beneficial! In addition, with a good diet, you stay in shape, you improve your immune defenses and you reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

3. Sleep well

Sleep in seniors is an asset to have beautiful skin. And this on several levels. It is at night, when we sleep that cells renew and regenerate. The more you follow sleep cycles, the healthier your skin is. Fatigue is to be fought. When we lack rest, we tend to eat foods high in sugar or fat. They allow us to comfort ourselves and give us short-term energy. But this is not a solution! It is recommended to sleep at least 7 hours a night in a clean, tidy, ventilated and not overheated room.

4. Limit your alcohol consumption

Alcohol is festive and often associated with good food. While it may seem good for morale, it is very bad for health. It drastically increases our sugar intake, which can make us gain weight, it dehydrates our skin and increases blemishes. In addition, regular alcohol consumption accelerates the aging of cells and therefore of the skin. Our complexion is dull and we tend to swell. As a reminder, alcohol is two glasses a day and not every day!

5. Stop smoking

Smoking is no longer relevant. Whether in the street or on the terraces of cafes, this habit is lost for the happiness of all. If you want to delay the aging of your skin, it is important to quit smoking. Do not wait ! Smoke your last cigarette and throw away the end of the packet. It's hard, but you'll soon see the benefits of a tobacco-free life.

6. Reduce stress

Stress is bad for health and for the skin because it accelerates aging. Whether it is caused by professional or personal life, you have to learn how to fight it. When stress is at the rendezvous, our body produces cortisol. Sebum production also increases. The result is clear:we have a dull complexion and there are more imperfections. It should be noted that stress promotes free radicals which attack our cells and which accelerate the aging of the skin. To stay young longer, reducing stress is therefore a solution that works. To achieve this, you can bet on sports, yoga, meditation or even gardening.

7. Watch out for the sun!

Even if we are all looking forward to summer, the sun is far from our friend. On the contrary ! Prolonged exposure without protection can damage our skin. At best, it ages prematurely. The spots appear and the wrinkles are more and more marked. But sometimes the punishment is even greater:a melanoma can develop. Each year, 80,000 skin cancers are diagnosed. We must therefore protect ourselves. How ? Here are some tips.

  • Avoid exposure to the hottest hours.
  • Wear bright, flowing clothes.
  • Apply sunscreen every 2 hours and after swimming.
  • Wear a hat and sunglasses.

Also know that fair skin looks younger. So there is no point in wanting to have an overly tanned complexion.

8. Adopt a good beauty routine

Having a good beauty routine is essential to preserve your skin and slow down its aging. Healthy skin is clean skin. Also, morning is evening, you must cleanse your skin well. Choose non-aggressive soaps. If you feel tightness after washing, change formula.

The hydration of the skin must be done morning and evening. In the morning, you will apply a day cream and in the evening a night cream. Of course, it is recommended to opt for anti-wrinkle moisturizers. If you wear makeup, consider choosing a fluid moisturizer. It will be absorbed more quickly and you can then apply makeup. To fight wrinkles around the mouth or eyes, choose specific treatments. which perform better.

Depending on your skin type, you can complete your routine with masks or scrubs. Once again, you have to take into account the specificities of your skin to choose the right products.

Make up lightly and do not hesitate to massage your face when you apply your creams. This approach helps to improve the micro circulation of the skin, to have smoother skin and a fresh complexion.
