I 'do' very well during my transition. Generally. But not always.

You probably know them too… those days when you are grumpy about nothing. However? Or am I a special case? Even though I'm still in such a good mood… it can just turn into a grumpy state because of Joost may know what. And sometimes it doesn't take much at all. Well… that's what happens with the menopause, it makes you spontaneously grumpy. Sometimes. Or usually. It just depends on how you look at it. Or who watches it.

Grumpy because of the menopause (or because of husband and children?)

Since I can no longer throw it on my monthly period I just blame my transition. Yes… my transition. Or my children. Or my husband.

You know, actually "I'm doing really well" during my transition. I find myself. I'm not complaining much at all. I find myself again. If you ask the rest of my family, I won't vouch for their answers, I'm sure you understand that.

Burdened by the transition

With my 47 years young I have been suffering from the menopause for years. In fact… it started before I was 40. Nice early huh.

Starting with huge sweats in bed. at night. That's how my transition started before I even realized it and it makes you grumpy, those sweats. Don't you understand? How do you think it feels when you kind of drift away from your place? And not because your hubby is ruffling against you - because that is long past time - he is not even allowed to come close during these types of outbreaks. Because that's just adding fuel to the proverbial fire. When the flames come out of my ears, I prefer not to have anyone around. And no hugs at all!

But that grumpiness in the night didn't bother anyone. Except me of course. No, that transition isn't that bad for the rest of the family, it just plagued my nights. Until a few years ago. Then it started igniting during the day as well. Spontaneously, unsolicited. Since that time I always wear a shirt with a vest. And that vest goes off about 8 times a day. And on again. Annoying dude, to make you grumpy 😉 .

Transition, cranky and slack in general

In addition to your internal heater going wild, your exterior won't improve either. Everything slackens so much, no collagen powder can compete with that. Not only your belly, but also your skin and especially your perseverance! I used to be able to tackle everything and bite into everything… nowadays I sigh and moan through the days and I am happy that the weekend is approaching (somewhere on Wednesday/Thursday) because I have agreed with myself that I will only be allowed to drink a glass of wine then.

So on the one hand, everything weakens and you suffer a lot from moisture… there is only one place in your body where it turns out to work the other way around. Right. Just where a little moisture and relaxation is desired, it is dry there and everything is taut. Who made that up! Fortunately, the latter can be done with the Silk'n Tightra, but that's a completely different story.

What the rest of the family shouts

But much worse than the menopause, the sweats and the sloshing armpits of temperature changes that the environment can still suck on is the comment of the rest of the family.

Did you think that -when you have your period- you can't have much of your family? Well, just wait until you're in the menopause, then the grumpiness can really start. The smallest comment can come in like a shot in the neck. Chocolate can't compete with that anymore. Now I understand that they can't do anything about it either, but a little understanding is desirable when 'it' comes up.

The only thing I really don't understand is that mother nature has ensured that women often go through the menopause when they have an adolescent in the house. That's asking for trouble at home, isn't it? Not only because of the adolescent behavior, but also because they always eat all the chocolate!
