With this weather I prefer to eat a delicious low-carb salad. I find it easier in the summer to stick to a healthy diet, do you recognize that? Especially now that I am now aware of how much sugar I was ingesting per day. That was a bit scary! Anyway, on to the delicious low-carb salad. To inspire you, I have listed 5 delicious salads for you that are mega healthy and contain few carbohydrates. Do you have any additions? Let us know!

The basis of a healthy low-carbohydrate salad can be found in vegetables, proteins and healthy fats. After that you can vary with everything.

The advantage of the recipes below is that they are also very easy to make. Healthy. Yummy. And easy!

1. Super simple low-carb tuna salad

The advantage of fish is that it is naturally low in carbohydrates and contains a lot of protein. Very handy to use in a salad. This low-carb salad with tuna is very easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • Can of tuna (in oil or water)
  • cherry tomatoes
  • cucumber
  • red onion
  • lettuce
  • little mayonnaise
  • salt and pepper

You can decide for yourself what you like in terms of quantities for this low-carb salad. I like a little spice and enjoy a lot of red onion in it. But if you don't like it that much, just grab a little bit.

Preparation tuna salad

This one is very simple. Let the tuna drain in a colander. Then mix all ingredients together and add salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy your meal!

2. Salad Caprese

Another delicious low-carb salad that you undoubtedly know is the Caprese salad.

Ingredients low-carb caprese salad:

  • an avocado
  • 125 grams mozzarella
  • 500 grams of tomatoes
  • 15 grams of basil
  • 2 tablespoons homemade green pesto
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 100 grams of ham (prosciutto crudo is delicious, but something else is also possible)
  • little salt

Preparation Caprese salad

Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella. It is best to cut the mozzarella in half again so that you have enough slices to place between the tomatoes.
Now place the tomato slices and buffalo mozzarella, alternately, on a plate.

Mix the olive oil with some salt and sprinkle it over the salad. Then divide the basil leaves over this low-carb salad.

Cut the avocado and ham into small pieces and divide them over the salad.

Note Normally you will probably use balsamic vinegar over a Caprese salad. This is very tasty, but not low in carbohydrates. It is therefore better to omit this one.

4. Bacon/egg salad

A salad that I have only made once, but which is very well liked. A bacon/egg salad. I was inspired by Lowcarbchef with this salad. He is indeed so ready and satiated just fine. Really something for busy mothers who are looking for a tasty filling low-carb salad!

5. Celery salad with apple

This is a delicious salad that is low in carbohydrates, provided you are careful with the use of the apple in it. Nice and fresh, a real summer salad.

What not to use in a low-carb salad?

There are a number of ingredients that you should leave out if you want to eat low-carb. Those are the products that contain starch. This is because starch is converted into glucose. The following does not fit well within that diet and it is better to leave it alone.
