Infused water is hip and very healthy – and that's how you make healthy tasty

Infused water, isn't that water with a taste? In other words:just lemonade? Well, not quite. Infused water has been all the rage for a number of years now. You undoubtedly know it. And let's be honest, here no birthday goes by without a carafe with infused water on the table. The special bottles in which you make your water with some extras are for sale everywhere. But of course you can also just prepare it in a glass, or rather in a carafe so that it can steep for a long time.

Infused water, with or without bubbles and other extras

Whether you like plain still water, or you prefer to drink sparkling water from the bottle or via the soda stream. An infused version is always delicious. It is also a great success as a mocktail.

If life gives you lemons:the difference between infused water and lemonade

Lemonade is originally sweetened lemon juice. The Dutch word probably comes from the Italian lemon water 'limonata', (not to be confused with lime). In France, Citron Pressé is still widely available in cafes and on terraces, often sweetened with sugar. Later, this name passed to drinks with other fruit flavors besides lemon, such as:orange (ranja), pomegranate (grenadine) and plum (Reine Claude).

The basis of lemonade is fruit with water. The current trends of healthier living are impacting and omitting the sweetened aspect that created infused water. No more sugar and sweetener. We drink neat. An occasional cold cola is of course nice, but if you prefer to take it easy with the sugars the rest of the time, infused water is a good idea. And good for the wallet too.

Infused water-with-fruit-or-vegetables

The term "infused water" has become indispensable in America and has also become quite well-known in the Netherlands. Infused water is water (with or without carbonation) with flavor and color due to fruit, herbs or even vegetables.

If you prepare a large pitcher in the morning, the taste will soak in and you will have delicious and nutritious water for the whole day. You have hundreds of combinations and you can experiment. Infused water has many advantages; it is low in calories, much tastier than plain water. It's healthy because you make it yourself. The manufacturer has therefore not been able to put in any strange additions. And if you follow the recipe below, you as a 'producer' will be fine too.

Summer water with citrus-prick

A refreshing thirst quencher is filling a large glass with the juice of a freshly squeezed citrus fruit. Add plenty of cool spring water. Serve it with ice cubes and a sprig of mint leaves. And your water is ready! Nobody said it was hard † And this drink also quenches thirst well in the winter. It is highly recommended after exercise. How do you prefer to make your infused water yourself? By the way, if you drink enough of this type of water in a day (preferably at least 6 glasses), you can also omit the Alka tea. You are already flushing your body enough.

Infused water for on the go, a tasty and healthy alternative to coffee to go 😉

The coffee to go is now a household name everywhere. But if you want to take better care of yourself, it is much smarter to take an infused water to go with you on the go. This way you can be sure that you are getting enough fluids during the day. And let's face it, that coffee in a thermos isn't really tasty after 2 hours, is it? We can't say that about infused water.

And so I came up with a nice idea. Don't offer my regular customers a bottle of wine at Christmas, but print drinking bottles to give away, with a great booklet with infused water recipes.

I'm still thinking about whether I'll design a booklet myself or whether we'll just add an existing 'infused water' booklet. But designing it yourself is of course more fun. This way my customers can think of me every day when they are on their way and enjoy the most delicious waters 😉 .
