Getting started with CBD oil in 4 steps

Online there is a lot of jubilant stories and drugstores also stock up on the oil en masse and advertise it. CBD oil could sometimes work wonders, but how exactly do you use it?

1. Determine whether the use is responsible

Even though CBD is plant-based, it is not addictive and does not get you high, for some it is not justified to use. Do not use CBD oil if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and do not give it to children and pets. Do you take any sedatives that end in -pam or any pain relievers? Then it is good to build up extra carefully, because CBD oil can enhance the calming and pain-relieving effect of the medicines. If you use a lot of other medicines or if you are seriously ill, it is wise to consult your doctor first.

2. Determine which oil is the most user-friendly

Especially online, there is a kind of race going on among CBD oil sellers who can offer the most concentrated oil. The percentages vary from 2.5 to even 25 percent CBD. According to Arno Hazekamp, those percentages don't mean much in the end and it is especially important to look at the dosage. “Because if you have to put thirty drops under your tongue twice a day, you simply lose count quickly. It is much more convenient if you only have to count two or three drops.”

3. Build it up slowly

Use one drop twice a day for the first few days and gradually build up the dose. Make sure you are at the recommended dosage on the package within two weeks. Some CBD producers recommend taking the oil all at once in the morning, Hazekamp recommends spreading the oil over two intake times. “Then you build up a constant mirror.”

According to him, dripping under your tongue is not necessarily necessary. “The reason CBD is offered in oil form is because it doesn't mix with water. It's wet under your tongue, so I don't believe it gets absorbed faster that way through the mucous membranes there, as many manufacturers claim. You might as well just swallow it straight away or stir it into a meal.”

4. Draw your conclusion after two weeks

Do you notice a difference after two weeks? Then the oil apparently 'works' for you. If you still don't feel anything after fourteen days, there is little chance that it will happen and you might as well stop.
