Watch tip:Coffee time pays attention to Parkinson s article from Santé

On Wednesday 6 January, the Coffee Time program will pay attention to the Parkinson's article from the December issue of Santé. In this Annelien tells that she was already told at the age of 33 that she suffers from this 'old people disease'.

The RTL4 program 'Koffietijd' regularly pays attention to articles from various magazines. On Wednesday 6 January it will be Santé's turn again and there will be talk about Parkinson's disease.

Isn't it an 'old people disease?'

In the December issue of Santé you can read how Annelien was told at the age of 33 that she has Parkinson's. An illness she saw as an old people's disease until then.

“Three months earlier my father had been diagnosed with Parkinson's. Jokingly, I said to him, "You'll see I have the same as you." But really, I never thought I could. Even as a doctor, I did not know that this disease also occurs in young people. I knew a teacher at Erasmus University who had it. He was old, bent over, bent and trembling through the corridors. That was my picture of Parkinson's. So when my current neurologist told me what I was suffering from, I was shocked. I didn't feel sick at all. Later I discovered that if you put a thousand Parkinson's patients in a row, they all have a different symptom. So it was still possible…”
