These foods help with menstrual pain

Every month you lose the menstrual pain. Very annoying! You can take a painkiller, but there are also foods that help against menstrual pain.

1. Walnuts

The pain in your abdomen is caused by contracting muscles in your uterus. Combat this pain with omega-3 fatty acids, which are richly represented in, for example, walnuts.

2. Broccoli

A head of broccoli contains an average of 71 milligrams of calcium. This mineral is essential for maintaining your muscles (including the muscles in your pelvis). In addition, research shows that calcium can reduce cramps and other menstrual ailments, especially if you eat it a few days before that annoying week.

3. Citrus fruits

Researchers do not yet know why vitamin B (and especially vitamin B1) helps against menstrual pain, but it does help. So eat citrus fruits more often. These are all packed with vitamin B.
