This is how you notice that you are more stressed than you think

Everyone feels a little stressed from time to time. Women suffer from it more often than men and sometimes the stress can lead to a burnout. When do you notice that you are more stressed than you think?

You're busy and you just keep on trotting. You do a hundred things at once and it seems like it takes no effort at all. But make no mistake:that constant stress can make you lose yourself once in a while. Sometimes you don't even notice it. But if you often suffer from the following symptoms, you are more stressed than you think:

Constant headache

Do you have a nagging headache all day long? Stress is the trigger for headaches. So if you notice that you suffer from headaches more often, take a moment and try to create more moments of rest in all the pressure.

Stomach

The stomach is one of the first places on your body that suffers from your stress. According to Harvard Health, your brain has a direct effect on your stomach and gut. For example, an upset stomach can send signals to your brain, and your brain can send signals back to your stomach.

Stress, for example, can make you more prone to heartburn, which in turn increases the risk of stomach ulcers. If you often experience stomach pain, nausea or bloating, it could indicate that you are under too much stress!

Thirst!

Are you feeling a little stressed? Time to drink a glass of water or tea. If your body doesn't have enough fluids, it can't function properly and you can suffer from stress.

Research shows that too little water can cause the stress hormone cortisol to be increased. Proper hydration can suppress that stress hormone.

Sleep

Do you have irregular sleeping patterns and strange dreams? That may indicate that you suffer from stress.

Too much stress can affect your sleep. You have trouble falling asleep, wake up frequently or wake up very early. In the long run, this can lead to a lack of sleep, making you more sensitive to stress.

And that stress hormone we talked about earlier can make your body think you are/should be awake, making it hard to get to sleep at all.

If you finally fall asleep, you may experience strange dreams again. Especially if you suffer from frustration or have an unpleasant experience, you can have dreams where you feel sad, frustrated or stressed. According to researchers at Cardiff University, stress can trigger specific dream scenarios. For example, dreams in which you fall, are attacked by someone, are locked up or in which you try something every time, but fail every time are typical stress dreams.

Sweating

Another typical stress symptom:sweating a lot. Stress sweat is different from, for example, heat sweat. It's a little more milky, a little greasy and packed with protein. Stress sweat is in your armpits, forehead and groin. Basically this is odorless sweat, unless you leave it on your body for too long, then it can start to smell.

Hair loss

Everyone loses hair every day. Some more than others, but if you notice that you are losing more hair than normal, it may mean that you are taking a little too much on your fork.

The worst form of hair loss is alopecia. With this extreme hair loss you suffer from baldness on your head but also in other places on your body.

If you are concerned about your hair loss, visit your doctor for advice.

You feel down

Do you notice that you no longer enjoy anything, that you constantly feel gloomy, that you have the feeling that you are not feeling well, that you do not feel like going out or meeting others? Everyone does from time to time, but if you have this feeling all the time, it's time to get help before it gets worse.

It may be that you not only suffer from stress, but that you also suffer from depression.

Research from 2012 shows that the bodies of those who are exposed to long-term stress produce a lot of stress hormones. This can affect the enjoyment of everyday things.
