5 tips to avoid the flu

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that you will not get the flu. With these tips you minimize the risk and you may be able to escape the flu.

1. Get a vaccination

If you fall into one of the risk target groups and you receive a call to get the flu shot, it may be wise to get it. Once you already have the flu, it's too late.

2. Wash your hands

Bacteria can easily be spread through your hands. You touch everything, the pole in the subway, doorknobs, a keyboard, the banister. Wash your hands regularly with soap for twenty seconds, that can prevent you from becoming infected with a virus.

3. Sleep and rest enough

Too little sleep weakens your immune system, making you an easier prey for the flu. Therefore, try to get enough sleep.

4. Live healthy

Do not drink too much alcohol, exercise regularly, relax, drink water and ensure a good diet with which you get enough vitamins. It is not a holy grail, but a healthy lifestyle has a positive influence on your resistance.

5. Think extra about hygiene

Ventilate your home well to reduce the spread of the flu virus through the air. Clean frequently touched surfaces more often. For example, think of the door handles and the toilet. Do not share towels with each other and regularly open a window to ventilate well.
