4 reasons why losing weight is not a good resolution

Be honest:is losing weight on your New Year's resolution list? But is that such a good idea? Because losing weight as a resolution is actually not a good idea…

1. Losing weight as an intention is too vague

The clearer your intentions are, the more likely you are to stick to them. How many pounds do you want to lose? How are you going to do that? It is better to resolve to exercise twice a week, not to eat sweets until the end of January or to bring a healthy lunch to work every day.

2. Focus on health

Unless you're overweight and want to shed pounds for health reasons, your weight isn't everything. It is more important that you feel healthy and fit. You do that by feeding your body with the right ingredients and making sure you are strong enough.

3. Your body is not a project

It sounds a bit corporate, but your body is not a project that you work on temporarily. You have it all your life and that should be the motivation to take good care of it. It is not about being able to maintain a diet temporarily, you have to make permanent changes to your lifestyle. Your new lifestyle must be healthy, sustainable and suitable for you. That is a quest that cannot be summarized under the heading losing weight .

4. Use your own experiences

Did you plan to lose weight last year? Did that work? Use your own experiences to your advantage and set realistic goals that are achievable. If you have indeed not eaten at the end of January, it will be very motivating and you will get closer to your ultimate goal step by step.
