Botox only against wrinkles? No, it is not!

Botox only against wrinkles? No, it is not!

If you think that botox is only suitable for smoothing your face, you are wrong. An injection can do much more than just fill wrinkles.

Botox is a brand name for the substance botulinum toxin. It is a protein made by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Botox paralyzes your muscles and is therefore widely used as a beauty tool to eliminate wrinkles in your face. A doctor then injects small amounts of Botox into a facial muscle with a fine needle, so that it is still for about two to six months. A botox injection can be injected into any muscle and thus also reduce muscle tension in other parts of your body.

Fewer migraines

Do you regularly suffer from severe headaches? Botox can be the solution for migraines and tension headaches. With these types of headache, the muscle tension in the face is increased. It then feels a bit like you have a tight band around your head. An injection of Botox can relieve the facial muscles of tension, so that pain stimuli are less transmitted to your brain. Headaches can go away for about three months with one injection.

Against sweaty armpits

Wet spots under your arms can really destroy your confidence. Botox injections block sweat production in the glands under your arms. One injection can prevent you from perspiring for five to nine months.

Bladder problems

Do you urinate small amounts, are you unable to hold your urine or do you suffer from urine loss? Then your bladder may be overactive. This means that your bladder muscle is contracting too often, so that you have to urinate before it is completely filled. Botox can heal your bladder as effectively as drugs. An injection inhibits the overactivity in your bladder, so that you have to go to the toilet less often and no longer lose urine.

Stops teeth grinding

Do you slide your teeth together so hard that it makes a grinding sound? Or do you force your teeth together all night, causing it to crack? Then you are probably grinding your teeth. Everyone does it sometimes in their sleep, but if you do it permanently you may suffer from overactive chewing muscles. Teeth grinding is directly linked to your central nervous system and can be caused by nervous disorders or stress. It can damage your teeth, cause muscle pain and cause problems in your jaw joint. Treatment with botox in the chewing muscles can reduce the tension in these muscles, so that the grinding decreases or even stops.

Blush

Everyone blushes sometimes. But for some people, the blushing is so intense that it interferes with their daily life. You blush when your body reacts to emotional stress or an exciting situation like giving a presentation. This reaction runs via a nerve that opens the small blood vessels in your skin, which greatly increases blood flow. An injection of Botox can reduce or counteract the red hot cheeks for up to about six months.
