This is how much water you should drink per day

Do you know how much water you should drink, why you should drink enough, what happens if you drink too little and what happens if you drink enough?

You've probably heard it before, drink 2 liters of water a day and you're good, but why? A woman's body is made up of 52% water. That is by the way 11% lower than for a man, but that aside. There is a calculation for this:Your body weight per kilogram times 30 milliliters of water. However, according to the Nutrition Center, you are in the right place if you drink between 1.5 and 2 liters per day. Alcoholic drinks are of course not included, because they extract moisture. The standard is lower for children, 1 to 1.5 liters and 1.7 liters per day for older people. The color of your urine is a good indicator of whether you are drinking enough water. If the color is yellow to orange, then you are drinking too little water and if the color is light yellow to transparent, you are on the right track.

Can I really only drink water?

No, in addition to water, the Nutrition Center also recommends black and green tea, herbal tea and even coffee. Good news, two to four cups of coffee a day may actually be good for you. We'll have another cup! Drinks with sugars and alcohol are therefore not recommended.

What is the best water to drink?
