What is a barefoot path?
Barefoot paths are specially made for walking barefoot. And those are not paved roads, but paths where you stamp your feet through the mud, walk over leaves and walk on boulders. What you won't find there, for example, are garbage and ashes, so you can safely enjoy the feeling of the earth between your toes and get used to walking without shoes. Here are some places you can try it yourself.

Walk four kilometers through the Doezemermieden nature reserve. You walk through shallow water, over sand, through the mud, jump from stone to stone, rest in a beautiful picnic area, find your way through a maze and finally rinse your dirty feet under a water pump. Afterwards you can enjoy nature in the tea garden.

De Lieteberg – Zutendaal (BE), just across the border near Maastricht
Wood, stones, tree chips, grass, loam, water, sand:your feet will experience them all during this cool walk through De Hoge Kempen. Along the way you pass a watchtower with a fantastic view over nature and for the enthusiast there is a bee center, a butterfly greenhouse and an insect museum.

At the bottom of the former Zuiderzee you wade through a sea of ​​flowers, the frogs jump over your feet in the ditch, you walk through various tanks where you feel hard and soft, cold and warm and eventually you end up in a mud bath.
