The number of people who develop skin cancer has almost doubled since 2005. This makes it the most common type of cancer in the Netherlands.
Since 1990, the number of patients has even increased by 308 percent. According to KWF Kankerbestrijding, the increase is partly due to excessive exposure to UV radiation. Try not to burn yourself. Pay extra attention to sun protection for children, because they are extra vulnerable.
