- More eye contact ensures that patients have more confidence in the oncologist.
- Age is important for confidence. The older the patient, the greater her trust in the oncologist.
- Education level has an influence:women with a higher education level were less likely to trust the oncologist.
- With sufficient eye contact, patients remembered more information from the conversation. On average, half of the important information from the conversation was remembered.
- Better communication between doctor and patient increases trust and improves care for breast cancer patients.
