Attention to the women s heart

Today is Dress Red Day, a day created by the Dutch Heart Foundation to draw attention to cardiovascular disease in women.

Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in women. The signs are different in women and often less clear than in men. The signals are therefore more quickly overlooked or not recognized and that has to change. Of course we also consider Dress Red Day at the Santé editorial team. In the October issue of Santé you will find the article 12 things you didn't know about your heart.

Increased risk of cardiovascular disease
Did you know, for example, that family members with heart problems are a first indication that you may be hereditary? But if you regularly have migraines around your period during puberty, that can also be a sign. In addition, high blood pressure in middle age and during pregnancy is a signal that you should take it seriously. During pregnancy, the higher the blood pressure, the higher your risk of heart problems.

Give your heart the attention it deserves with the tips from Santé. Scroll to page 34 in the October issue for all the tips.
