Can SIDS be prevented soon?

How can a healthy baby suddenly stop breathing? It's every new parent's nightmare. A doctor from Seattle Children's Hospital thinks the cause of SIDS can be traced after 11 years of research.

Ear damage Seattle Children's Hospital physician Daniel Rubens suspects that SIDS is associated with damage to the ear and vestibular system. He examined a number of babies who had died from SIDS. All babies had damage in their right ear.

Follow-up study
The hypothesis of Daniel Rubens is that babies with inner ear damage have difficulty turning into another position if they have difficulty breathing. Daniel Rubens admits that more research is needed. He recently raised an additional $20,000 to support his research. That amount is enough to continue his research for the time being.
