Looking at your phone puts pressure on your back

Looking at your phone puts pressure on your back

When you look at your phone, you usually bend over. That's worse for your back than you might think.

Press your back
Your head weighs about 4.5 to 5.5 kilos. The further you bend your head forward, the more pressure will be placed on your spine. That can go up to a pressure of 27 kilos.

Bad for your back
A surgeon from New York, is concerned about this fact. It is very bad for your back. With so much technology, it's almost impossible not to look at it. Because even behind the computer we sometimes catch ourselves in that crooked attitude.

How do you ensure good posture?
– Sit with your back straight and your shoulders back.
– Place a mark on your computer screen at eye level. This way you are occasionally reminded to sit up straight.
– Stretch your back regularly.
– Bring your phone towards your head instead of the other way around.

The image below shows how the pressure on your vertebrae increases. From 5-6 kilos on the first picture, to 27 kilos on the last.
