Drinking water limits weight gain

Drinking water limits weight gain

We know that it is healthy to drink enough water. Every now and then this is again confirmed by an investigation. If you replace a glass of soft drink with water every day, you will gain less weight.

Harvard University conducted research on more than 125,000 people between 1986 and 2007. Every four years they filled in a questionnaire about their eating and drinking patterns.

Research
The subjects gained an average of 1.5 kilograms every four years. Those who replaced a glass of soft drink with water every day gained an average of 1.5 kilos less in four years. If you replace a glass of fruit juice with water, that saves an average of 0.35 kilos every four years.

Substitution for water
Do you find water boring? If you replace soft drinks or fruit juice with coffee, tea, skimmed milk or sugar-free soft drinks, this also has a positive effect on your weight.
