Universal vaccine instead of flu shot

Universal vaccine instead of flu shot

Do you get the flu shot every year? In the next few years, that may be redundant. There is a flu vaccine in the making that protects against all forms of flu.

The vaccine lasts longer than the flu shot we know today and therefore needs to be administered less often. In addition, the vaccine will not be a shot, but will be administered via an inhaler.

The new vaccine is expected to be ready in four years. Three universities, five national health institutes and four companies are currently working on the research.
