Breakfast troubles

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, yet it sometimes falls short. Two out of three Dutch people think that breakfast should become a more important part of the day.

Three quarters of the Dutch have breakfast in less than 15 minutes. In the weekend we take a little more time, but the majority of breakfast is still less than half an hour. Five percent of people even rarely or never have breakfast.

Time for each other
Breakfast is actually the perfect time to make time for each other, 80 percent agree. Especially on weekends, breakfast is an excellent time to spend time with your partner or family.

Perfect breakfast
According to the research, our ideal breakfast consists of coffee or tea, baked bread, a boiled egg and a croissant.

Tips

  • How do you ensure that you also make time for breakfast on working days?
  • Set your alarm clock fifteen minutes earlier.
  • Prepare your breakfast the night before.
  • Bring your breakfast with you, or prepare your breakfast as soon as you get to work.
  • Can't get much out of the morning? Try drinking breakfast or a bowl of yogurt with fruit.
  • If you have to leave the house around the same time as your partner, make an appointment to have breakfast together.
