Healthier with almonds

Almonds not only reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, it also reduces the risk of heart disease. This is according to research by the University of Medicine and Dentistry led by Dr. Michelle Wien.

The study, conducted among people over 65 with pre-diabetes, found that a diet rich in almonds has a positive effect on insulin sensitivity and also lowers the bad LDL cholesterol level

The researchers concluded that even small changes in diet can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. At the next party a bowl of almonds so on the table!
