Cutting board source of bacteria

Cutting board source of bacteria

The average cutting board contains fifty times more bacteria than a toilet seat, according to the British Health Council.

You can't see them but they are really there:bacteria. Not only on the toilet seat but also on the counter, your dishcloth and the cutting board † Wooden cutting boards in particular are a source of bacteria † Cutting quickly creates pits and grooves in such a wooden cutting board, making cleaning increasingly difficult.

To be as hygienic as possible, it is wise to wash your cutting board immediately after use. To really kill all bacteria, sprinkle a handful of sea salt over your cutting board † Take half a lemon and squeeze the lemon juice over the shelf. Then rub the lemon over the salt, rinse and dry your cutting board.
