The Dutch neglect their gums

The gums of the Dutch are unkempt and in many cases inflamed. This is apparent from a study conducted by the Dutch Association of Dental Hygienists (NVM) during the National Health Fair.

In 99 percent of the people studied, the gums were poorly cared for † It started to bleed quickly and was deepened in places, which may indicate inflammation and breakdown of the supporting tissue and the jawbone.

Few people know that these inflammations cause dental plaque † To stop the inflammations, a good oral hygiene important.

The NVM research also shows that 65 percent of the people surveyed have never been to a dental hygienist † The dental hygienist provides treatments that improve the condition of the gums. Also advises he or she people about oral hygiene.
