High turnout for swine flu vaccination

High turnout for swine flu vaccination

About 60 to 80 percent of the people called have picked up their swine flu shot.

On the first swine flu vaccination day there was a storm at the GGD. About 60 to 80 percent of the people called have had their shot. It was especially busy in the middle of the Netherlands; at 85 percent, the turnout there was highest.

In Amsterdam, the fewest people came to get their shot against the Mexican flu, yet 55 percent of the people there are vaccinated.

In total, more than a million people received a call for a swine flu shot of which 800,000 children between six months and five years. The other 200,000 vaccinations are intended for people who frequently come into contact with risk groups.

Vaccinations will be distributed in the coming days. The GGD expect that these days the turnout percentage will continue to grow.
