Jellyfish:How to Avoid Them and Treat Their Burns?

Summer is often the time for jellyfish.

A jellyfish sting is painful and can ruin the holidays!

But don't panic!

There are ways to avoid their trajectory or relieve burns.

How? 'Or' What ? I explain everything to you. Here's what to do:

Jellyfish:How to Avoid Them and Treat Their Burns?

Divert your trajectory from the ugly creature

The jellyfish is there, you feel its presence, then you see it clearly. Do not panic ! The jellyfish drifts with the current , so it does not choose its trajectory.

Go in the opposite direction , it will not follow you. Then, keep a good distance if you can with it, because it has a nematocyst, in other words a stinging capsule that it can propel and which is in its tentacles.

This nematocyst causes electric shocks which can cause edema. The lesions heal in a few days but sometimes cause allergies.

Pay attention to your face , wear a mask if you know that the beach where you are is infested with jellyfish.

Treat any burns

1. Rinse with sea water.

2. Then remove the cells remaining on the surface, as they are likely to release venom in turn. Use tweezers, or your (gloved) hand or your credit card, in short, whatever you have on hand at the moment that can do the trick.

3. Then go home and finish your treatment with white vinegar, in order to calm the hives as soon as possible.

4. Last advice:wash in hot salty water . Guess the nasty toxin sent by the saucer-shaped enemy can't stand the heat.

5. In case of severe pain, take an analgesic and consult a doctor.

You are ready for any eventuality! Now you know what to do if you see a jellyfish and how to relieve a sting.

In summary, take your diving masks on vacation , but also take your white vinegar...

And above all, sharpen your sense of observation in order to monitor the enemy's trajectory!
