A Cheap High Protein Diet for a Small Budget.

A Cheap High Protein Diet for a Small Budget.

High protein diets like Dukan or Scarsdale are all the rage. Yes, but meat and fish have their cost. Don't worry, here are some tips to make up for animal protein without deficiencies!

1/ The egg, THE "protein"

The WHO (World Health Organization" has chosen egg protein as the world reference protein. It is the best protein because it offers the optimal balance of essential amino acids. So take advantage of it, 3 times per week, replace the meat with eggs in an omelette, soft-boiled or fried. There are many ways to eat eggs. Prefer all the same organic eggs which guarantee the quality of proteins.

2/ Pulses and seeds

These vegetable proteins are not to be forgotten:chickpeas, white or black beans, lentils. They will bring flavor to your dishes and change from the famous slice of ham or the big slice of steak rare! For the seeds, I suggest my favorites:oats for breakfast, or millet and quinoa in a salad.

3/ An aperitif without frustration

In nuts, there are also very good proteins:almonds, pistachios and pecans for the most common. For aperitif fans, replace your savory biscuits with pure pistachios and fresh cut vegetables that you can dip in a yogurt sauce (salt, pepper, Provencal herbs)

4/ Dairy products are our friends!

The must for me is 0% fromage blanc. It can be served in a savory sauce with herbs of your choice or as a dessert with a few nuts in it. You can even spread it on your face to treat your skin. friends, that's another topic! Treat yourself to a little blue, sheep's or goat's cheese from time to time.

I wish you good luck in losing those extra pounds. Tell us about your experiences, what works well, what works less well, your delicious recipes for slimming, or anything else you would like to share in the comments.

Savings Achieved

To eat quality meat, it is easy to spend 10 to 20€ per kilo . Fish is still a bit more expensive. Besides that, if you buy a kilo of quinoa, it will make you more meals and will not exceed 3€. The same goes for the kilo of 0% white cheese that you will find for 3€ max at the supermarket and I challenge you to finish a one kilo jar in one go! Impossible, the white cheese cuts the end!

Avoiding too much meat is also saving your health. Doing without it means not ingesting saturated fats which will increase your cholesterol and internal toxins and weaken your immune system. So might as well replace it!
